As Nabil Bentaleb’s departure from Tottenham seems to be edging closer, Benfica are one of the many clubs linked to the 21-year-old.

The player is said one of the names who play in the “8 position” and considered to be a good replacement for Renato Sanches, who has just left for Bayern Munich in a record breaking transfer. No pressure Nabil.

However, despite making those claims, A Bola have contacted the midfielder’s agent Madjid Yebda, who denied he was yet aware of the Eagles’ interest in the player.

According to the agent, Bentaleb’s desire is to stay in England, as clubs like Middlesbrough have been linked to him in the past few weeks.

The Frenchman signed for Tottenham from Dunkerque in 2012, when he was still 17. Despite not being part of the club’s plans anymore, he signed a new contract last summer, which commits him to Spurs until 2020.
