Barcelona are looking to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilón this summer, according to multiple reports from Spain.
The left-back was on loan at Manchester United and Brentford last season and returned to Spurs with little prospect of success.
His deal lasts until 2025, but has no future at Tottenham. That’s according to AS, who say the La Liga side have made an approach for the 27-year-old.
The newspaper claims the Spaniard’s ‘agents confirm the interest’ of the Catalan club, without providing any comments from the representatives.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are eager to sell the former Real Madrid man in this window, to avoid losing him for free in 2025.
Barca currently have Alejandro Balde as their only recognised left-back. Their negotiations with Manchester City for João Cancelo haven’t progressed and they’ve shifted their focus to the Tottenham player.
AS say Reguilón is an interesting option for Barcelona, ahead of youngsters Gerard Marín and Àlex Valle, because of his experience.
Sport claim Hansi Flick ‘gives the go-ahead’ for Barca to sign the Spanish fullback. Taking his contract situation into account, the Spanish giants believe they can secure the deal for a reasonable fee.
There’s a deal to be done here for Barca, as long as their offer convinces Tottenham.
