Earlier on Wednesday, we covered claims from France that Paris Saint-Germain were doing everything they could to challenge Bayern Munich to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
The striker has become the German club’s prime target as they seek a proper number nine for next season, but have already had one bid rejected.
The arrival of PSG on the scene might have been a problem, but Sport Bild quickly published an article to dismiss any worries Bayern Munich fans may have when it comes to the Tottenham star’s feelings.
That’s because Kane, ‘if there is a change’, will ‘only go’ to Bavaria and doesn’t want a move to France’s capital.
The England international has ‘already confirmed’ that he wants the move to Bayern, and that makes the club ‘very optimistic’, especially after he rejected the French side, as it means he is ‘true to his word’.
The biggest issue for Bayern now will be dealing with Daniel Levy, who initially rejected the €70m + bonuses offers, and despite reports elsewhere suggesting a second bid was made, Sport Bild state ‘there has not yet been a second, new offer’.
The Tottenham chairman is described as an ‘unpredictable partner and leads tough negotiations’, with the German magazine speaking to Pine Zahavi, who ‘communicates and defends’ Levy.
He said: “Daniel Levy is a man of honour, whose word counts.”
