Earlier today we covered comments from Emerson Royal in which he expressed his disappointment at missing out on Brazil’s Copa America squad.
Returning to the national team is a priority for the Tottenham player, and he made it clear that if he can’t get minutes at Spurs then he’d like to leave and get them elsewhere.
AC Milan have been chasing the defender all summer, but on Wednesday there were suggestions in Italy that the Rossoneri may be forced to look elsewhere if they continue to struggle to agree a deal with Tottenham.
Thursday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport now brings in potential competition from Saudi Arabia. Emerson is said to be of interest to an unnamed Saudi Pro League club, who could go as far as quadrupling the wages Milan can offer.
Presumably they would also be willing to offer more to Tottenham, getting closer to the €20m that the Premier League club is thought to want.
What a move to Saudi would mean for Emerson’s Brazil chances is unclear. If he’s to be judged on his word that will be a very important aspect.
