Skipping Tuesday’s Belgium training session with an ankle complaint, Jan Vertonghen was back on Wednesday, training as normal with the rest of the group, according to DH.

The Tottenham star is now expected to take part in Saturday’s game against Bosnia after his absence was noted yesterday, as the centre-back trained by himself, indoors, while the remainder of his fully fit teammates were out on the pitch.

One of the first names on Roberto Martinez’s team sheet alongside his club teammate and compatriot Toby Alderweireld, the 30-year-old is edging ever closer to picking up his 100th cap for his country.

Currently on 94, the Tottenham defender first got the honour of representing his country back in 2007 after his loan spell at RKC Waalwijk from Ajax.

If all goes to plan, and no new injury worries crop up, Vertonghen could very well reach his century during the 2018 World Cup, which Belgium will be aiming to win with all the talent at their disposal throughout the squad.
