Last Tuesday, we covered claims from Germany which stated Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg is a new target for Borussia Dortmund in the summer window.
Two days ago, the midfielder played the full 90 minutes in Denmark’s 2-0 loss to Germany at Signal Iduna Park.
After the tie at BVB’s home stadium, Sky Deutschland interviewed the Tottenham player, and asked him about the reports linking him to Dortmund.
Responding to that, he said: “It’s a nice stadium. I’m on holiday now, then after the break…”
Højbjerg’s compatriot Thomas Delaney also started in midfield against Germany, and the Sevilla owned player, who spent last year on loan at Anderlecht, spent three years at Dortmund between 2018 and 2021.
Delaney is of the belief the 28-year-old should ‘definitely’ consider a move to Dortmund. He has also urged the Bundesliga side to make an approach to sign the Spurs man.
“I would recommend it to both sides. He is a fantastic player and I’m very happy to have him as a teammate. He is a top-level central midfielder,” Delaney explained.
Højbjerg’s game time was restricted under Ange Postecoglou last season, with just eight league starts.
Last month, Højbjerg’s agent stated a decision on his future will be made after the Euros, and now that Denmark are eliminated, there could be movements on this case in the next few days and weeks.
