Tottenham Hotspur sit on the edge of Flamengo’s latest striker planning, according to reporting relayed by BolaVip from ESPN Brazil. The key point is that the Brazilian club are currently working with a defined list of priority targets… And Richarlison is not among them for this transfer window.
Flamengo’s board are focused on trying to complete a deal for a forward still in this window. Those internal priorities are being treated as the main objective. Only if the club fail to land any of those preferred options will the conversation shift. In that scenario, the Tottenham striker would then come into play, but with a different timeline and logic.
According to the report, Richarlison would be considered Flamengo’s ‘plan A’ if the club decide to postpone a major attacking signing until the middle of the year. That would push any potential move into the next window, rather than prompting immediate talks with Tottenham Hotspur.
Within Flamengo, Richarlison is said to be very well rated. The forward reportedly has the approval of Filipe Luís and José Boto, both of whom take part in football decisions at the club.
From the player’s side, the report adds that Richarlison would like to leave Spurs only after the World Cup, which further distances any short-term move.
There is also external competition. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are monitoring the situation, which adds another layer for Tottenham to consider.
Financially, the gap remains significant. Richarlison earns around £5.7m per year at Spurs (approximately R$35.38m), or close to £110,000 per week – figures viewed as extremely high by Brazilian standards.
For now, Flamengo’s priority list comes first, and Tottenham remain in control of what happens next.
