With Erik Lamela’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur being a hot topic in the Italian media today, we see two sides of the story being pointed out.
This morning, newspaper Corriere Dello stated stating that the Argentine winger will leave Spurs at the end of the season, as he hasn’t been having enough playing time at the club.
They claimed out that Napoli could be one of the candidates to land the 29-year-old this summer, as he’s since ‘entered the radar’ of the Serie A side.
Now the claims have been analysed by market operator Vincenzo Morabito in a chat with Radio Kiss Kiss.
The official, however, didn’t sound that optimistic about Lamela’s chances of joining the Italian club, as Tottenham will still take a decision on what will happen to him.
“His future will also depend a lot on the future of Tottenham. Kane has asked for the sale and this time he’s serious,” said Morabito (via Napoli Magazine).
“Tottenham first have to solve this issue and then have to find the new coach again. Lamela is not for sale right now though.”
Despite making 35 appearances for Tottenham this season, Lamela played few minutes in each match, and only has four goals and one assist so far.
His contract with Spurs expires in 2022.
