Last week, we covered a report from AS, who claimed that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy runs the risk of losing Christian Eriksen as Real Madrid are interested in the Spurs star.

The Denmark international’s contract with the Premier League outfit runs down in 2020 and AS explained it’s ‘very, very difficult’ for the former Ajax man to agree a new deal with the north London club.

That claim was significant, because AS had been speaking to the player’s agent.

Today’s edition of Catalan newspaper Sport once again mentions the 26-year-old is a target for the Champions League winners, along with Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

Both players have contracts ending in June 2020, putting pressure on their clubs.

It’s claimed in the report that Eriksen ‘does not hide his desire’ to wear the shirt of Los Blancos.

The same is said for Hazard, but whilst that’s a long standing fact for the Chelsea player, it’s not really in the public realm for Eriksen. If the Denmark international does have this huge desire to sign for Madrid, then he’s not taken the steps Hazard has to show it.

Sport says the Belgian could leave the Blues for €112m, while Eriksen could leave for a fee of €100m in the summer.

These claims have usually been easy to dismiss, but Eriksen’s contract situation will only see doubt increase about his future at Spurs.
