Giovani Lo Celso has returned to Tottenham Hotspur after spending the last 18 months on loan at Villarreal.
The midfielder is currently part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the pre-season tour and has also attracted interest from Napoli and Real Betis.
Mucho Deporte have a report explaining why it’ll be complicated for the La Liga side to sign the Tottenham player.
The 27-year-old spent the 2018/19 season at Real Betis and the report states his desire to return to the club hasn’t changed. He has also maintained regular contact with the Los Verdiblancos’ officials.
If the cost of the deal to sign him made it difficult, another factor further complicates the Spanish club’s efforts to sign him.
It’s claimed Postecoglou is delighted with what he saw from the player in the pre-season and believes he would fit into his plans at Spurs. Therefore, the Australian has convinced Lo Celso to continue at the north London club.
Mucho Deporte makes it clear this has nothing to do with the goal scored by Lo Celso in the friendly defeat against West Ham United.
The Argentina international seems to be convinced as the report states he’s ‘not going to force’ to leave Tottenham. He had earlier believed his time in England would come to an end but Postecoglou’s latest stance has now ‘changed the picture’ for Lo Celso.
