Two days ago, Marca reported Tottenham Hotspur chief Daniel Levy is willing to sell Harry Kane to a non-English club in the summer.
Real Madrid are in the market for a new No.9 after Karim Benzema’s departure.
Wednesday’s Marca explains that signing the Tottenham star is the ‘priority’ for the La Liga side.
The England international is the ‘chosen one’ for Los Blancos as Carlo Ancelotti considers him an ‘ideal’ candidate to replace Benzema. They have been ‘working for 10 days’ on this operation.
Real Madrid are aware it won’t be easy to negotiate with Levy but will still go ahead due to their urgent need to bring in a new striker.
Kane has now given his approval for the operation, which Marca state could be concluded for around €80m. The Spanish giants are clear they won’t spend €100m on this deal.
Tottenham blocked Kane’s exit in the past. This, coupled with the duration left on his deal and a lack of European competition at Spurs will ‘play in favour’ of Real Madrid to sign him.
The report adds the ‘commitment acquired’ with Kane ‘can greatly facilitate’ his arrival at the Bernabéu.
