On Monday, Corriere della Sera reported Juventus could look for a new midfielder in January and Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has been identified as a target.
This is backed up by Calciomercato, who then provide more updates on the possibility of the 28-year-old ending up at the Serie A side.
It’s claimed the Old Lady have a ‘concrete idea’ to sign the Tottenham player who ‘has not managed to bewitch’ Ange Postecoglou.
The midfielder has been restricted to five substitute appearances in the league, clocking up 79 minutes in the process.
The Denmark international’s agent has started to look for a solution, so he’s prepared if his client’s situation doesn’t improve in the next few months.
The report states the agent has knocked on the Turin club’s door, and considering his profile, experience and leadership qualities, he ‘could really be right’ for them.
Højbjerg’s contract expires in 2025 and taking this into account, Calciomercato suggest a loan deal with an option to buy could be an option in the winter market.
The ‘idea is there’ for Massimiliano Allegri’s side to sign the Dane but they haven’t taken steps so far and Tottenham’s position on a potential deal also needs to be assessed.
