Holders of the trophy Paris Saint-Germain came from behind twice to beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 in the Champions League at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani, who has been on loan at Tottenham since the summer, assisted Richarlison’s opener in the 35th minute. Vitinha scored the equaliser right before the half-time break.
Kolo Muani scored in the 50th minute to see Tottenham regain their lead. Vitinha scored the second goal of the match three minutes later.
Fabián Ruiz and Willian Pacho scored in the 59th and 65th minute respectively to give the Ligue 1 winners a two-goal lead. Kolo Munai reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute before Vitinha completed his hattrick four minutes later.
French newspaper L’Equipe have shared their usually harsh player ratings.
The 26-year-old striker got 8/10, which is the highest for a Tottenham player and generally a superb mark for L’Equipe. The next best were 6/10 for both Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Tottenham captain described as a ‘nightmare’

Spurs’ midfield duo of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, along with Micky van de Ven, were rated 5/10. Fullbacks Pedro Porro and Djed Spence both got 4/10.
Pape Matar Sarr and Guglielmo Vicario received 3/10. Tottenham star Cristian Romero got the lowest rating of 2/10 and his performance was described as a ‘nightmare’. Thomas Frank got 4/10 and Spurs’ average rating was 4.6/10.
L’Equipe states: ‘Wearing the captain’s armband, Romero was involved in three of the goals conceded. He was too close for Vintinha’s first equaliser, initiated PSG’s third goal with a poor clearance, and conceded the penalty converted by the Portuguese player with an avoidable handball.’
‘Sarr was clearly at fault in the build-up to two of the goals, while Porro lost possession far too often [15 times] and Spence (4) was too passive. In midfield, Bergvall and Gray alternated between clumsy play and moments of brilliance, while Bentancur, who provided the assist for Spurs’ final goal, showed some bite.’
