Fabio Paratici had a record at Juventus of signing players on free transfers, or those coming close to the end of their deals.

At the time, he got much praise for it, yet whilst the whole idea wasn’t a disaster, the Turin club are now stuck with some highly paid players they can’t get rid of.

Given he liked a supposed bargain at Juventus, it’s no surprise to see Paratici, now at Tottenham, again linked with Serie A players coming to the end of their contracts.

One of those is Franck Kessie, and Tottenham have repeatedly been pushed forward as an option for the AC Milan midfielder. Gazzetta dello Sport reports there’s been no advance in renewal talks, and the Rossoneri continue to worry about losing the 24-year-old, who is a key player for them.

Tottenham’s problem comes with the competition in the race to sign him. PSG are once again mentioned by Gazzetta, and the Italian newspaper also bring Manchester United into the picture.

Against such competition, Paratici will need all his skills and contacts to secure the transfer for Tottenham.
