Sampdoria signed Joachim Andersen from FC Twente in 2017 and after struggling in his debut season in Serie A, the defender has impressed with his displays this campaign.

The Denmark international has started in 18 league games this term and his fine form has seen him attract reported interest from the Premier League, particularly from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

According to Calciomercato, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are keen on the securing the services of the 22-year-old in the winter market and are ‘one of the most interested’ clubs in Andersen.

For the deal to take shape, the north London club are willing to spend €40m in January and the reason why Spurs are willing to invest in the centre-back is because they would like to have the player made available to them ‘immediately’.

Unfortunately for them, Sampdoria are not looking to sell the central defender who has a contract until 2022.

Andersen is also attracting interest from the Red Devils, who have watched him in action on several occasions and the report claims United have already approached Sampdoria over the possibility of signing him in the next transfer window.
