Tottenham is now the reference point in the Premier League race for Souza, even as new clubs enter the picture.
Recently we covered that Tottenham submitted an opening proposal worth around €10m. Santos rejected the bid and replied with a much higher valuation.
Now according to Brazilian outlet Somos Fanáticos, the club have placed the full price close to €20m. That response has reset the market and highlighted how a January deal would have to shape. But Spurs stand as the side that have gone furthest in testing Santos’ stance.
The same report adds that, despite the refusal, negotiations have not been closed. Tottenham’s move helped set a clear benchmark. It also confirmed that Santos will listen, but only at figures well above what has been offered so far.
Santos’ stance also explains why interest continues to grow. The club view Souza as a long-term asset and believe his value can still rise. Under contract until 2028, the 19-year-old has gained regular minutes and strengthened his internal standing.
With other Premier League clubs now circling, Tottenham’s early move still shapes the market.
