French newspaper L’Equipe have a scoop on a late Tottenham Hotspur attempt to sign Maxime Estève from Burnley.
According to the French newspaper, Spurs have presented a deadline day offer worth £20m to the Championship club in an attempt to take the player immediately.
That £20m offer has been immediately rejected by Burnley who have told Tottenham they want a lot more if they’re to part with Estève this evening.
L’Equipe report Burnley are demanding £30m to sell the 22-year-old central defender.
There’s no indication at this stage whether Tottenham are prepared to meet that demand from Burnley and increase their offer by 50%, or even if Spurs would return to try and find an agreement somewhere in the middle.
With only a few hours left of the window, Tottenham would have to move very quickly indeed.
Maxime Estève has made 30 appearances for Burnley so far this season and is a key member of Scott Parker’s team.
