Since performing a u-turn and deciding he wants to leave Bayern Munich in the winter market, Mathys Tel has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs.
With several of England’s top flight looking to sign someone who can help with scoring goals in the remainder of the season, Tel has reportedly found himself pretty popular in the past 24 to 48 hours.
Tottenham Hotspur are likely the club who have been linked most. Initially it was reported Spurs were in contact with the player’s representatives regarding a move, then it was claimed Ange Postecoglou’s side had also contacted the Bundesliga club.
Now Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg reports Tottenham are in ‘very intensive talks’ with Bayern Munich to sign the 19-year-old. It’s thought Spurs would be looking at a loan deal for the rest of the season, although a permanent transfer is also possible.
Tottenham are pushed out ahead, but Chelsea and Aston Villa remain in the picture.
Something to note on this is that Mathys Tel hasn’t actually scored a goal so far this season. He’s played 14 games, mainly as a substitute, and contributed one assist.
