Tottenham ‘do not want’ to spend €30m on KAA Gent star Gift Orban, despite receiving €100m+ from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane.
That’s according to Voetbalkrant, who say that Tottenham and other clubs have been ‘shocked every time they hear the price’ that the Belgian side want for the striker.
They explain that there is a lot of interest in Orban in particular this summer after he managed 20 goals and two assists in 22 games for the club last season.
Tottenham have him on their list of potential replacements for Kane, whose departure to Munich has left a hole in their forward’s line that needs filling.
Indeed, a report today backed up that interest, insisting they were keen and maintaining contact with the player’s entourage ahead of a possible move for him.
However, they ‘do not want’ to put up the €30m required for Orban as they seen him as a transfer for the long-term rather than a short-term fix.
They have been ‘shocked’ every time that they’ve contacted Gent regarding the Nigerian, and it seems don’t value him at the price that they want.
Whether that has put an end to their interest remains to be seen but at the moment it seems the 21-year-old is considered too expensive.
