A big race for Fulham star Andreas Pereira is today reported by the Brazilian media.
Globo Esporte shares a story claiming that Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have all ‘expressed interest’ in signing the midfielder.
The outlet claims that Andreas had an agreement with Marco Silva not to leave Fulham in his first two seasons in England, with the Whites turning down offers from Atletico Madrid and Al-Etifaq in that period.
However, club and player both understand now is the time to ‘listen to the market’, and his stay at Craven Cottage for another season is seen as ‘unlikely’.
The battle comes from within the Premier League, where Tottenham, Newcastle and Aston Villa want to sign him. It’s Kia Joorabchian who’s handling the talks.
Pereira is said to be focused on the Copa America and is only set to sort out his future after that. However, he already has a priority in mind, which is the Champions League.
That would give an immediate advantage to Aston Villa over Tottenham and Newcastle. His staff believe the market will get ‘heated up’ after his upcoming performances for Brazil, so there may be other clubs joining that fight.
