Yesterday, reports in the Dutch media suggested Tottenham are in negotiations with AZ Alkmaar over the possibility of signing Vincent Janssen. The North London side have already had bids rejected, and have been repeatedly knocked back.
The report in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf suggested AZ want at least €20m for Janssen, who scored 32 goals last season.
According to another report in French newspaper L’Equipe, Paris-Saint Germain have also entered the race to sign Janssen. L’Equipe reckon PSG are in advanced negotiations with AZ, and the transfer fee would be around €15m.
The French newspaper sound quite confident about Janssen signing for the French champions, but the fee stated contradicts earlier reports about AZ asking €20m for Janssen.
It is worth mentioning De Telegraaf earlier in the season reported Paris-Saint Germain have been scouting Janssen, and it seems they’re quite serious about signing him.
This would come as a big blow for Tottenham, who had already agreed to pay Janssen wages worth €3m a year, after the player had visited London to hold discussions with the Premier League side.
Maybe PSG are being used to pressure Tottenham into coughing up the asking price, or maybe Jansse could soon be perfecting his French instead of his English.
