Belgian side Mouscron are eyeing up a move for Tottenham assistant João Sacramento after sacking manager Fernando Da Cruz.

The French manager was relieved of his duties after just nine matches in charge of the club and a winless start to this season which has seen them lose six of their first nine games.

Tottenham coach Sacramento is now at the top of their list of replacements, with Het Laatste Nieuws stating that he ‘will take over’ if Mouscron’s owner, Gérard Lopez, can ‘detach’ him from Spurs.

Lopez is also the owner of French side Lille so knows Sacramento well, with the assistant coach having spent two years in a similar role with the Ligue 1 team before linking up with Mourinho.

He now wants to reunite with his former employee and hand him the manager’s role at his second club but will have to convince Tottenham to let him go first.

Their stance, and Sacramento’s, isn’t mentioned but it would be surprising if Tottenham did not put up a fight to keep their number two.

Should that happen, or he turn down the interest, Lopez is also considering another Portuguese coach, Miguel Cardoso, as an alternative according to HLN.
