Marcelo Brozović could leave Inter Milan after this season and Tottenham Hotspur would be one of the options for him.
The midfielder suffered two different injuries this season and those who replaced him have impressed. This could see the Serie A side make the 30-year-old ‘expendable’ in the summer.
That’s according to InterLive.it, who name Tottenham and Barcelona as the two options for the player.
Brozović has a contract until 2026. Although he doesn’t want to leave, the club’s economic problems leave ‘no room for sentimental reflections’. Inter chiefs Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to make cash by selling him.
Barca and Inter tried to carry out an exchange deal involving the Croatia international and Franck Kessié in January. That didn’t work out, but the La Liga side are still in the mix for Brozović, along with Spurs.
It’s claimed Tottenham have been the team ‘most interested’ in the Nerazzurri star recently. Antonio Conte has a deal expiring in June and should the Italian sign an extension, he would need players he could trust to rebuild the north London club’s squad.
This is where Brozović fits in as the manager knows the Croatian first hand from his time at Inter. Therefore, an offer of €25m or €10m plus Japhet Tanganga is expected to arrive at the San Siro from Tottenham for the midfielder.
The report doesn’t mention the formula Inter would prefer to sell Brozović, while they point out Simone Inzaghi’s side like Tanganga. Any potential deal from Spurs for the midfielder would depend on Conte signing a new deal at the Premier League side.
