Earlier this year, we covered claims from Italy explaining that Tottenham Hotspur have included Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee in their transfer target list.
Fast forward to March and MilanLive.it have a report on AC Milan and Spurs interest in the 22-year-old.
They state the striker is targeted by several European clubs and Tottenham are included in this list.
The Netherlands U21 international has scored 10 goals and registered six assists from 28 games this season.
Milan are looking for a new striker and are ready to make a large investment in the summer.
Their focus seems to be on the former Bayern Munich man, Lille’s Jonathan David and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, and among these, the Dutchman is the main target for the Rossoneri.
It’s claimed the Italian club have to be wary of competition from England, where Ange Postecoglou’s side are the ‘most active’ in the chase for the frontman.
The Italian media have been repeatedly talking about the possibility of him leaving Bologna and keep increasing his supposed asking price.
There’s clearly an effort ongoing to hype Zirkzee, and the Tottenham claims need to be seen in that frame.
