Real Betis have ‘already told’ Tottenham and Giovanni Lo Celso that they are eyeing up a move for the Argentine this summer.
That’s according to AS, who say the player is more of a ‘dream than a reality’ for the Spanish side at this moment in time.
They explain that Lo Celso is very much an option for Betis this summer, whose summer transfer window seems to be focused on bringing former stars back to the club.
Lo Celso is one of them, having shone for them in the past before his €32m move to Tottenham in the summer of 2020.
He’s expected to be moved on by Tottenham this summer as part of their rebuild and Betis have made it clear to him and Spurs that they are ‘a candidate’ to sign him if he does.
Any deal at this moment in time is difficult because of the financial aspect, with Betis’ budget extremely tight.
They would need the midfielder to ‘give in to his economic claims’ if he were to return to Heliopolis, before then trying to work on a deal with Tottenham, which would presumably be dependent on a big departure from Betis’ squad.
At the moment ‘calm reigns’ at the Spanish club, with them more than aware that there is plenty of time left in the transfer market for things to happen.
A reunion with Lo Celso is very much on their list of ideas, though, something they have already communicated to both the player and Tottenham.
