Luka Vuskovic’s agents have been left surprised amid reports of talks about a potential new contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
MOPO report that, according to their information, a recent report about the Tottenham youngster was wide of the mark.
Tottenham report incorrect
The newspaper explains that a recent paragraph in a British newspaper had led to excitement back at HSV Hamburg. In a piece about squad planning at Tottenham, it was claimed that the 19-year-old was expected to sign a new contract with Tottenham.
He would then be loaned out to Hamburg once again. That would be a dream scenario for HSV. They have almost consigned themselves to losing the Tottenham defender this summer.
But, according to MOPO, the passage in the report is not true. Their information is that there are currently no talks whatsoever between Luka Vuskovic’s representatives and Tottenham regarding a new contract.
And, as a result, there is no need to speculate about any potential contractual agreements between HSV and Vuskovic. The report in England has even caused ‘some surprise’ among Vuskovic’s camp.
World Cup focus
The 19-year-old isn’t focused on his future right now anyway. For him, the World Cup is the main focus. He recently joined the Croatian national team in Rijeka to prepare for the tournament.
Croatia are set to take on England, Panama and Ghana next month in the group phase of the competition. Talks with Tottenham will only take place when Croatia’s participation at the tournament is finished.
There is every chance that Luka Vuskovic will play a big part in Tottenham’s plans for next season. That is particularly the case if Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were to depart in the coming months. Reports have linked both with exits.
Reports have even indicated that Vuskovic wants to depart Spurs this summer. Either way, another loan remains ‘unrealistic’. That’s despite what the English report might have stated.
