When Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur loaned Hannibal Mejbri and Alejo Véliz to Sevilla back in January, it seemed like a fair deal for all parties involved.

The Red Devils and Spurs needed their youngsters to get more playing time, and with the Spanish side needing some reinforcements, the hope was they would make good use of them.

That’s not what’s happening, though, and as outlet AS today talks about the situation, they highlight how Manchester United and Tottenham are not happy with the scenario.

It’s pointed out that with Hannibal and Véliz getting few minutes on the pitch, those decisions ‘do not sit well’ with the Premier League duo, and that could harm Sevilla’s chances of getting players from English clubs on loan in the future.

The story recalls that Sevilla ‘battled hard’ to sign the Red Devils’ player, while the Spurs youngster was brought in on deadline day, so it was the club’s own effort to bring them there.

Hannibal only has 89 minutes played in Spain, while Véliz has 42, and it seems clear that Manchester United and Tottenham will now think twice before making that type of deal again.

This certainly isn’t the first time there have been articles like this in Spain about the duo, with many not understanding the decisions, and it also likely won’t be the last.
