Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City today get a mention in the race for Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Oscar Gloukh.
That’s done by Portuguese newspaper Record, who features a short story about Benfica’s interest in the player.
They claim that the Eagles recently ‘asked’ about the youngster. The Lisbon side intended to get to him first, since a big competition for his signing is expected.
According to Record, the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund all have the player ‘referenced’.
All those sides, however, are apparently to match Tel Aviv’s demands for the teenager.
The newspaper says the Israeli side’s request is ‘well above’ what clubs want to pay for him.
Gloukh has six goals and six assists in 21 appearances for his club this season. Those are impressive stats for an 18-year-old midfielder, and that’s why Transfermarkt already value him at €4.5m.
With this big competition going on, that’s a very good reason for Tel Aviv to make a huge auction for his sale. Now we wait and see if Tottenham and Manchester City will place interesting offers to win that battle.
