Tottenham defender Emerson Royal is ‘waiting for a call’ to leave and join AC Milan, but Spurs demands remain the roadblock to a deal.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who provide the latest update on the Tottenham man in what is quickly becoming a drama.
They explain that Milan have made Emerson Royal their number one target to reinforce the right-back position after trying to Aston Villa’s Matty Cash and Lille’s Thiago Santos.
The Brazilian wants to leave Tottenham and join the Italian giants, indeed he has ‘promised himself to Milan’, with his agents already working on a contract.
They’ve agreed a deal worth €3m per year that should either be a five-year contract or a four-year deal with the option for a fifth. The final details on the bonuses included in that will be sorted once the two clubs are in the final stages of the operation.
The full back is now ‘waiting for a call to leave’ for Milan but will have to wait as they’re not getting anywhere in talks with Tottenham.
They sent an initial proposal worth around €14m but that was deemed insufficient as Tottenham are sticking to a valuation of €20m. They don’t want to move from that.
The intermediaries involved in negotiations are working to try and soften their stance so an agreement can be struck, but more time is needed, leaving Emerson Royal waiting for the phone call telling him to fly to Milan.
