If there’s one agent doing some serious work these days, it’s Islam Slimani’s.
The striker has been pushed to one side at AS Monaco these days, and there’s been a lot of talk of his loan from Leicester being cut short so he can find himself a new club for the second half of the season.
We’ve had the likes of Aston Villa linked, but they went on to sign Mbwana Ally Samatta from KRC Genk, and while someone West Ham could have been the next serious logical step, it’s actually Tottenham and Manchester United who are being named as potential landing spots.
This comes from Le10 Sport in France, who explain the Algeria international is a wanted man across Europe, and his desire to leave Monaco is very real.
As well as Manchester United and Spurs, Inter are also thinking about him, which comes as no real surprise since they are three clubs in desperate need of a striker.
The Red Devils have lost Marcus Rashford until March with a back injury, while Harry Kane is expected to be out until April for José Mourinho’s side.
As for Inter, they have been after Olivier Giroud for quite some time, but if Chelsea refuse to lower their demands, then someone like Slimani could provide an adequate alternative for Antonio Conte.
Le10 explain all three sides ‘have positioned themselves for a loan’, suggesting the 31-year-old is simply a stop gap for the trio rather than a long-term solution, which makes sense.
Slimani had been in good form at Monaco during the first half of the campaign, scoring seven goals and assisting another seven in 14 appearances in all competitions.
