Tottenham and Man United plan to ‘fight tooth and nail’ to sign Watford player

Pervis Estupiñán wants more international recognition, and probably deserves it.

AS report the Watford owned player, who is spending this season on loan at Osasuna, had another good match at the weekend, this time against Real Sociedad.

Osasuna operated with five at the back, giving Pervis Estupiñán more space and freedom on the left wing in the 1-1 draw. Playing mainly at left back this season, it’s explained the 22 year old has become an ‘idol’ for Osasuna’s fans.

That’s brought admiration from elsewhere, and AS report Tottenham and Manchester United plan to ‘fight tooth and nail’ to sign the player when he returns to Watford this summer.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are credited with a similar level of interest, yet it all feels somewhat premature. It’s unlikely he’d walk into the sides of any of those clubs mentioned, and Watford would probably want a huge fee to sell the youngster to Tottenham or Manchester United.

Estupiñán has surely done enough to be called up by Ecuador more regularly in the future, and there’s a possibility these claims of interest from huge clubs are to catch the eye in the player’s home country.

With dual Spanish nationality, there’s no issue with a work permit.
