Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been told he would “fit wonderfully” into Bayern Munich’s team and should be moving there if he wants to win the Champions League.
That’s according to Didi Hamann, who insists the German giants represent Kane’s best chance of winning Europe’s top club competition.
Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer, with his current contract set to enter its final year.
He is yet to sign a new deal to extend his stay in London and several of Europe’s big clubs, including Bayern Munich, are thought to be considering a move.
The Bundesliga champions are long-term admirers of Tottenham’s record goalscorer, identifying him as the perfect man to replace Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last summer and has not been replaced in the squad since.
Whether Kane would make the move has been up for debate given he is chasing Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record, but Hamann believes he should jump at the chance if it is presented to him.
“I would love to see him play for a team that can win the Champions League,” Sky Germany report him saying.
“He is turning 30 and it would probably be the last chance for him this summer or next to do something different again.
“(He) would fit wonderfully into the Bayern team. Bayern have a lot of fast outfield players who can set up a lot of chances for him.
“Even if he doesn’t score any goals, because he is a good footballer, has a good eye for his team-mates and a very good technique. That’s why he could be very interesting for Bayern.
“If you want to win the Champions League, there are few addresses better than FC Bayern. They are there every year and have a super squad.
“The games against PSG were again an exclamation mark and I’m sure Bayern will always play for the Champions League in the coming years.”
