Towards the end of last summer window, Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilón completed a loan move to Atlético Madrid.
The left-back arrived at the Spanish club injured and had to wait until November to make debut for Diego Simeone’s side.
Since then, the Tottenham owned player has made four substitute appearances and his last outing for the La Liga came in their league draw against UD Almería in mid-January.
The left-back is currently on the sidelines due to another injury setback.
Simeone cannot rely upon Reinildo as he’s also out of action due to an injury until the end of the season, and his prolonged absence means the Spurs man is now suddenly ‘placed under the spotlight’, according to Estadio Deportivo.
Reguilón’s injuries and mixed performances haven’t convinced Los Rojiblancos, while the north London club, where he has a deal until 2025, don’t intend to have him back next season.
With a future expected to be away from Tottenham, the former Real Madrid man has to find a new club in the summer, and that’s why Reguilón has until the end of this season to showcase his worth to potential suitors, as the outlet states he will now be playing to ‘carve out a future’ for himself.
