Tottenham’s Alejo Veliz has revealed he made a trip to Sevilla with teammate Bryan Gil before joining the Spanish side on loan in January.
The striker has been speaking to Sevilla’s official media, relayed by AS, regarding his move to the Spanish side late last month.
He’s joined them on loan until the end of the season in search of regular playing time after struggling to establish himself under Ange Postecoglou this season.
He joins the Spanish side with them struggling at the wrong end of La Liga, with Sevilla currently 15th in the table and just three points outside of the relegation zone following a disastrous first-half of the campaign.
The hope is that he can get regular games and goals to help them move up and away from trouble, and perhaps return to Tottenham ready to compete in the summer.
It’s not the first time the two sides have done such a deal, with Bryan Gil, who joined Tottenham from Sevilla in 2021 but returned to the Spanish side on loan in January last year.
Gil, therefore, was the perfect man to speak to about the move and it seems he was happy to, as well as take a trip with Veliz to the city.
“I came with Bryan a month and a half ago or so and we got to know Seville a little,” he said.
“Then we went to his town and Bryan always spoke very well to me about the club. Before coming I spoke with him and asked him about everything.
“He told me to move forward because everything was a 10.”
