Tottenham winger Bryan Gil was operated on this morning by Dr Manuel Leyes, one of the top surgeons in the world and the man who operated on Manchester City’s Rodri.
That’s according to journalist Nil Sola, who reports that the Tottenham winger will be out for four months and that has brought his loan spell at Girona to an end.
Gil had been with the Spanish side since the summer after joining them on loan in an attempt to kickstart his career when it was made clear he was not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
He had been enjoying himself back in his homeland but reports this week made it clear his season could be coming to a premature end due to a knee injury.
Reports today indicated he had elected to undergo surgery and that was being carried out today and Sola now provides the details.
He says the Tottenham man went under the knife this morning and was operated on by Dr Manuel Leyes, one of the top surgeons in the world who has also operated on Rodri and Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal this season.
Gil is now set to spend four months on the sidelines and won’t play for Girona again, bringing his time there to an end.
The injury has also raised doubts about his future, which is now ‘up in the air’ as he enters the final year of his deal with Spurs this summer.
