Tottenham defender Emerson Royal is now ‘back in fashion’ at AC Milan, with talks resumed to try and get a deal over the line.
That’s according to Milan News, who report that the Italian side have revived their interest in the Brazilian as they hunt for a full-back.
They explain that after a period of ‘total stalemate’, Milan have returned to the negotiating table with Tottenham for Royal, who has always been the priority candidate for the Italians.
Milan know they need to add a full-back if manager Paulo Fonseca’s system is to work and believe that the Tottenham man is the right profile, but haven’t been able to reach an agreement with Spurs despite weeks of negotiating for him.
The failed negotiations had led to a belief that the matter was deadlocked and should be abandoned, but there is now talk of a ‘flashback’ that could bear fruit.
MN say that Emerson Royal is now, in fact, increasingly closer to Milan, who have decided to satisfy the demands’ of Tottenham, or at least get closer to them.
They’ve been encouraged by the player, who has been pushing for some time alongside his entourage to make the deal happen as he eyes a move to Milan and the chance to relaunch himself after a disappointing season under Ange Postecoglou.
Of course it depends on the actual figures, but appears clear the Rossoneri must now have forgotten about getting Emerson Royal for €10m and no more.
