Sevilla remain interested in defender Sergio Reguilón, but it is ‘neither cheap nor easy’ to get him from Tottenham this summer.

That’s according to ABC de Sevilla, who say the Spanish side’s priority is to find a new left-back, but the Spurs man may prove to be unattainable.

The newspaper explains that their director of football, Monchi, will have more than one name on his list of options to reinforce the position.

Reguilón is one of them, but he is neither cheap nor easy to sign from Tottenham, even if they have put him on their list of ‘discarded players’.

In addition to having a high price tag, he ‘has a high wage bill’ that would also make things difficult.

Paying a ‘very high figure’ for the player would also ‘break with the idea’ of revaluation that the club’s sporting directors have put in place in terms of signings this year.

In simpler terms, paying Tottenham a big fee for Reguilón would not fit Sevilla’s idea of signing players who can be sold on for a big profit down the line.

His high price tag plus his high wages seemingly make a deal difficult, and Monchi is looking at other options, such as Celta Vigo’s Javi Galán.

The interest is certainly there, though, and perhaps Monchi can sit down with Fabio Paratici and work something out that suits all parties.
