Tottenham defender Emerson Royal has given a ‘mandate’ to intermediaries and agents to seal a move to AC Milan and find an agreement with Spurs.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who pick up the thread on the Brazilian defender today as Milan push to try and get him.
Reports throughout this week have indicated that talks between Milan and Tottenham are picking up pace, with it claimed earlier today that a new meeting between the two sides had been planned to try and find an agreement on a transfer.
Calciomercato continue on that front, explaining Milan have now made Emerson Royal their number one target as he is a more feasible option than Aston Villa’s Matty Cash.
Emerson Royal wants the move and has even kept Villarreal at arm’s length because he would prefer to move to Italy this summer.
He’s ‘given a mandate’ to his agents and intermediaries to work on the deal with Milan and they’ve already been at work.
Milan have been listening to the proposals of the Tottenham man’s entourage and have a principle of an agreement in place regarding the salary and duration. Any bonuses and details will have to be defined if an agreement is reached with Tottenham.
That is why contact with Spurs is planned in the next few days to try and understand how the two sides can reach a point of agreement.
Tottenham don’t need to give in as they ‘have their accounts in order’ and so are sticking to a €25m asking price. Milan don’t value him at anything more than €17m and so that is why negotiations are needed.
The feeling is that an agreement can be struck at €20m but that will need ‘strong mediation work’ from everyone involved, particularly the agents mandated by Emerson.
