Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil has pulled out of the Spain squad after picking up an injury that will rule him out of the international break.
That’s according to El Paridazo de COPE, who say the Tottenham youngster has withdrawn as a precaution.
They report that Gil suffered ‘discomfort’ yesterday and further tests appear to have ‘confirmed’ that there is a problem which needs to be explored.
He has therefore decided to leave his nation’s training camp as a ‘precaution’, preferring to avoid aggravating a possible injury by fighting through.
Spain are also not going to call-up a replacement for the Tottenham man, instead preferring to work with what they have for this international break.
The nature of Gil’s injury hasn’t been made clear at this point, but is seemingly bad enough to warrant enough caution for him to pull out.
That will be a blow for the 22-year-old, who would have been hoping to use this break to convince Luis de la Fuente and add to his four senior appearances thus far.
