Giovani Lo Celso is willing to swap Tottenham for Napoli this summer, although only under certain conditions.
That’s according to Calcio Napoli, who provide details on the potential departure from Tottenham this summer.
They explain that the midfielder’s desire to wear the Napoli shirt remains unchanged, but he will only make the move under certain conditions.
At this moment in time, he is focused on his situation with Tottenham, where his contract runs out in 2025. He’s long been angling for a move away, but he hasn’t ruled out signing a new deal.
Tottenham, in turn, are evaluating whether to invest in him with another contract, with the player bouncing between the bench and pitch under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Thus, both parties are deliberating what to do and that means the midfielder is ‘evaluating all possibilities’ that present themselves to him.
His current salary of €4.5m a year certainly falls into Napoli’s parameters, but their interest will depend on who becomes their next manager.
For instance, if Antonio Conte were to make the move to Napoli this summer, then the chances of Lo Celso joining him would be low as the Italian coach was not a fan of the player when they were together at Tottenham.
It’s all in the air but a busy summer lies ahead for the midfielder and former Italian champions, which has often been the case in recent years.
