Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie has ‘dazzled all of Europe’ with his performances this season and left club and country to ‘rub their hands’ at the player they now have.
That’s according to AS, who cover the Italian today and sing his praises after an impressive start to life at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou.
The newspaper says that Udogie’s self-confidence and football ability has surprised many in Europe this season, who were not expecting such big things from him so early.
The 20-year-old returned to Tottenham after a loan at Udinese, who Tottenham signed him from last year for €18m before sending him back for a season.
The winning start to the season has been a ‘dream’ one for him and proved former Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici’s belief in him right.
He ‘did not think twice’ about paying the €18m for the promising full-back a year ago and now, after a year developing in Italy, he is flying for Spurs.
Indeed, AS say he is the ‘side of the future’ (for side read full-back) and that’s not gone unnoticed, with his performances having ‘dazzled all of Europe’ thus far.
Now a part of Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad for this international break he’s a player to keep an eye on as they and Tottenham ‘rub their hands’ at the prospect of a player who could ‘mark an era’.
