Over the past few days, the Spanish media have been taking an active interest in the future of Franck Kessié, as the midfielder is out of contract in the summer, and has caught the eye of Barcelona.
It’s been stated the Ivory Coast International has been sounded out by the Catalan side, but there is a lot of threat from the Premier League, with Sport focusing on Tottenham on Friday.
They explain Spurs ‘have already presented a very powerful offer for the midfielder’ and ‘could end up winning the bid with a high salary and transfer bonus’.
Sport add the player will simply go to ‘the highest bidder’, and with Fabio Paratici being a director of football who ‘knows him very well and already wanted him for Juventus’, the expectation is the Spurs chief ‘would prioritise his arrival in the Premier League as a strategic operation’.
It seems Tottenham may have a head start here, which will be good news if they are indeed trying to further bolster their midfield after signing Rodrigo Bentancur during the January transfer window.
