Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations for the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk fullback Dodô, according to reports from the Brazilian media.

Outlet Globo Esporte claims that Spurs already made a bid for the player, offering €20m for this move. That was turned down by the Ukrainian side.

The story says the negotiations now continue, and Tottenham will apparently have to make a significant increase in order to get the transfer done.

Globo Esporte recalls that Shakhtar Donetsk had already turned down a bid of around €25m from Bayern Munich before, meaning they’re serious about only letting him go for a reasonable amount.

Dodô has been at Shakhtar since 2018, when he signed in a €2m deal from Brazilian side Coritiba. He even had a loan spell at Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães in the 2018/19 season, but has been excelling for the Ukrainian side for the past couple of years.

The player is represented by agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who’s well known for getting involved in several Premier League deals involving Brazilians. With Tottenham’s pursuit for a new right-back, that’s a move which would make sense, although they may find it difficult to match Shakhtar’s asking price.
