Last week, Bild explained that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on VfB Stuttgart’s Hiroki Ito.
The Premier League side’s interest in the 25-year-old is backed up by Kicker, who say they are ‘tempting’ him.
With Tottenham keen, Ito has to make a decision on his future in the summer window.
The defender has been a regular since joining the German club, initially on loan in 2021, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
Al-Nassr tried signing the Japan international in the winter market, but he refused to join them. Al-Ahli have recently shown interest, and the two Saudi Arabian clubs tempted him with lucrative offers.
They showed willingness to activate the defender’s clause, which is just under €30m. He ‘resisted the temptations’, but Kicker asks whether the centre-back will be able to resist if Tottenham make an approach for him.
With Spurs tempting Ito, the report says his exit will be a ‘great loss’ for the Bundesliga side from the sporting point of view.
Stuttgart invested €700,000 on Ito, of which €600,000 was to make his loan stay permanent, and they would be in line to earn a big profit from his sale.
The German club seem to be in something of a panic about losing Ito to Ange Postecoglou’s side in the next window.
