Last week, following Sporting’s qualification to the Europa League’s quarter-finals, manager Ruben Amorim got linked to Tottenham Hotspur.
With Antonio Close looking close to the exit door at the club, it was claimed by the English media that the Lions’ boss could replace him.
That’s the reason why Portuguese newspaper O Jogo now features a story about the coach’s future and the chances of him taking charge of Tottenham in the future.
The outlet points out that Amorim has the Premier League as his favourite destination, and would favour the projects that give him the chance of fighting for titles.
The newspaper writes that Amorim is ‘very happy’ at Sporting and focused on winning more titles with the club. That’s why he’s ‘focused’ on the current season and preparing for the next one.
This seems to be the obvious slant from a manager who’s employed, especially regarding a club who have another coach under contract as well.
Now we wait and see how this story develops, especially in case the Lions go further in the Europa League this season.
