At only 18 years of age, Monaco’s young defender Benoit Badiashile is attracting a huge amount of attention from clubs in the Premier League.
Manchester United, Southampton, Wolverhampton and Tottenham have all been previously linked, and a few of them have taken it a step further.
According to TF1 journalist Julien Maynard, Spurs are the latest club to have ‘enquired’ about the centre-back, who has been previously reported as prioritising a stay in the principality.
In fact, Monaco aren’t interested in selling him, clearly seeing him as one for the future, and it’s claimed that only a ‘very big offer’ would change Oleg Petrov’s mind.
Petrov, who replaced former second in command Vadim Vasilyev at the Ligue 1 side, clearly has big plans, heavily recruiting this summer and keen to keep hold of their talent.
After all, Monaco will want to do their utmost to avoid last season’s scare, spending the vast majority of the campaign in or around the relegation zone, reappointing Leonardo Jardim after firing him and replacing him with Thierry Henry.
So, if Tottenham, or any of the other clubs want him, they know what to do: open their chequebook.
