Tottenham are ‘interested’ in Rennes midfielder Lovro Majer, with the French club ‘open to an exit’ in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who say the French side are more than willing to do a deal for the player if they can bring in €30-35m.
The website explains that after a successful first season under Bruno Génésio after arriving in 2021, Majer is going through something of a ‘difficult period’ this season at the club.
He has found himself out of the picture and playing a substitutes role, with just 13 starts in 27 games in the league this season.
That could push the player to seek a new challenge elsewhere and Tottenham are one of the sides ‘keeping a close eye’ on the Croatian’s performances.
A departure from Rennes has not been ruled out at this point and Rennes are ‘clearly open’ to a transfer happening, setting an initial target of €30-35m. The Bretons may be forced to lower those demands, though, given Majer is not playing regularly.
That lack of playing time has not reduced opinions on Majer, who remains a ‘talented and promising player’ in the eyes of several clubs in Europe.
He proved that last season and it’s believed several clubs, including Tottenham, would be ‘willing to invest’ in his services as a result.
