Earlier in the season, AS reported Tottenham Hotspur are keeping an eye on Barcelona’s Raphinha.
Last month, we covered claims from Spain that the north London club could be willing to make an offer for the winger in the summer.
Sport now brings Tottenham back into the fold when discussing the 27-year-old’s fitness issues and future.
Earlier this year, the Brazil international struggled with a muscle injury, forcing him to spend close to a month on the sidelines, before returning against Granada in February.
He’s slowly been gaining prominence in recent weeks, after the Catalan press believe he had a weak start to the season.
His aim is to feature regularly for Barca until the end of this season and represent Brazil at the Copa América in the summer. Towards the end, Sport state his future at club is ‘far from clear’.
When discussing interested parties, Tottenham get a mention and it’s said they have been ‘interested in him throughout his career’. Spurs have to be wary of competition from Saudi Arabia, from where an unnamed club have already made a €80m offer for Raphinha.
The former Leeds United star was previously managed by Deco and has been without an agent since the latter became Barca’s sporting director.
Today’s Sport claims several super-agents, including Pini Zahavi, are keen on including him in their client list.
Raphinha’s desire is to continue at the Camp Nou, but Barca will have to get rid one or more players in the summer to improve their finances.
The newspaper explains that the winger will be the centre of attention and has received offers from both the Premier League and Saudi.
Barcelona are near-desperate for a big sale, and that could present an opportunity for Tottenham.
