Tottenham are among several European clubs eyeing up a move for Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir in the summer.

That’s according to Fanatik, who say the Turkish goalkeeper has earned himself attention around Europe with his displays for the Super Liga side this season.

Bayindir joined Fenerbahce in a £1.35m deal from Ankaragücü in 2019 and has enjoyed a rapid rise at the club since, establishing himself as their number one in the two years since.

This year he’s been in particularly impressive form, conceding just 23 goals in 23 games in the league and keeping seven clean sheets as well.

That form has helped Fenerbahce to third in the table, level on points with Besiktas and Galatasaray, the latter leading the table on goal difference so far.

His performances have earned him rave reviews in Turkey and, apparently, this has spread to Europe, where there are several clubs keen on him.

Chief among them are Ajax, who have been observing the 22-year-old for some time but are ready to knock on the door for his signature this summer after Andre Onana was banned for a year.

They are not the only ones interested, though, with Tottenham, Lille, Schalke and Werder Bremen all ‘following’ the young goalkeeper as well.

Fenerbahce would naturally be opposed to losing one of their star men and, while Fanatik offer no asking price, Enson Haber say they would request €20m from any sale.

Whether the likes of Tottenham, Ajax or the other interested parties would be willing to pay that remains to be seen but, with Hugo Lloris continuing to struggle, Altay Bayindir could be a name to keep an eye on in the summer.
