Tottenham Hotspur have been in the mix for Montpellier’s Elye Wahi since the start of this year.
Back in January, Foot Mercato reported the north London club sent a scout to watch the forward in action for the Ligue 1 side.
Tottenham’s interest in the 20-year-old is now discussed by Jeunes Footeux, who state they have been following him ‘very closely’.
The France U21 international has impressed this season, scoring 12 goals and managing three assists from 25 league matches.
Wahi’s goalscoring form and a contract until 2025 has seen his employer set a €32m price tag for the next window. It’s explained the attacker’s asking price is ‘not enough’ to scare his suitors from the Premier League, which includes Tottenham.
As Spurs have been regularly mentioned as one of his suitors, the player revealed last month that he’s flattered with these links.
Wahi has mainly operated as the centre forward, and has been used on the right wing on a few occasions this season. Kane operates upfront at Tottenham and if he were to leave them, the Montpellier player could be an option for Spurs to replace the Englishman.
